The incident occurred at North Albion Collegiate Institute, a high school with about a thousand students in the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke. The stabbing happened after noon Tuesday in the school’s hallway.

The STAR has learned that the Saint Lucian teen (who cannot be identified because he is a minor) migrated to Canada from Bruceville, Vieux Fort, earlier this year. A relative informed this newspaper that the boy’s mother had taken up residency in Canada several years ago. She had filed for legal status for her children, including the young boy. Reportedly, he had difficulty fitting in at the school in Toronto, and was often bullied.
