The Ministry of Health and Wellness has provided an update on the Saint Lucian national who was found unresponsive in government quarantine. In a statement on August 24, the ministry indicated that on August 23 a 48-year-old national —who returned to the country on August 21 — was found unresponsive in her room at one of the national quarantine sites.
“She was rushed to the hospital via ambulance and is presently in the Intensive Care Unit at the Owen King EU hospital receiving care. The COVID-19 test conducted on this patient was negative. The medical team is presently conducting the necessary investigations to determine the cause of her condition and to clinically manage the patient,” the ministry stated.
In a statement today, September 1, the ministry provided the following update: “As it relates to the 48-year-old national who was found unresponsive in her room at one of the government quarantine sites on Sunday, August 23, 2020, the individual is still being managed at the Owen King EU Hospital and her condition is not linked to COVID-19.”
