We should be in a position to announce the appointment of a principal before the end of the month.” So said education minister Gale Rigobert on July 8, referencing the vacant post of principal at Sir Arthur Lewis Community College. The position has been vacant since January 2018, at the end of Ms. Olivia Saunders’ two-year term.
The education minister also said: “In the process of selecting a principal we recognize that Sir Arthur Lewis is at a very critical juncture at this point and fine-tuning of the recruitment process was very important to the current board and management.”
This week Rigobert said: “I understand that a principal is earmarked to begin shortly. My understanding is that at this stage, the person is, in a sense, closing up shop at his current engagement so that he can join Sir Arthur Lewis at the earliest possible time.”
