Scenic Drive Photography winners featured in Picturesque Sol 2013 Calendar

Sol St. Lucia’s GM Eugenie Dalson congratulates winner Bill Mortley.

The winners of the Sol Scenic Drives photography competition for inclusion in the Sol 2013 Calendar have been announced and the featured photographers have been presented with their prizes in all 13 countries where the promotion was held.
Winning photographers received US$500, while those receiving the most “likes” on Facebook received fuel vouchers for $100 in their local currency.
The resulting Sol 2013 calendar is a charming and picturesque drive through 2013. It opens with a cover shot from Haiti’s Petite Riviére-de-Nippes, a photograph by Rafaelle Castera, and provides a monthly tour guide of some of the most scenic Caribbean drives.
Reidar Karlsrud, Group Marketing Manager at Sol Caribbean Limited congratulated all the winners and said Sol was pleased to present regional customers with such a beautiful 2013 Calendar.
Mr. Karlsrud remarked: “This year we are really very pleased to have involved the community in our 2013 calendar project through this scenic drive concept. The calendar is a tribute to the beauty of our region and it displays the talent of the photographers who were successful in capturing these very scenic photos. We believe this calendar will provide a year of scenic enjoyment for our customers, and we wish them and their families safe and happy driving for Christmas 2012 and into the New Year.”
The Sol 2013 Calendar is indeed a credit to the winning photographers. The January 2013 photograph by Keiroy Robinson-Browne takes viewers to Anguilla’s Coronation Avenue, The Valley, Anguilla, a beautiful and well-shaded tree-lined street which is home to the Anguilla Tourist Board. February follows with an alluring shot of Well Bay, Beef Island, Tortola, by Anya Brewley-Schultheiss of the British Virgin Islands.
Scenic drives from St. Kitts’ Belle Vue Anglican Church, a photograph by Annie Jainarine-Ramsingh, and Jeremy Jediel Gongora’s Gallon Jug, Orange Walk in Belize, are featured for March and April respectively. Photographer Philip Williams makes a contribution from Guyana with a stunning sunset photo of The Village of Profit, West Coast Berbice; while a scenic drive via Cherry Tree Hill, St Andrew, Barbados by Stephanie Kothdiwala is nothing short of captivating.
Other winners in the Calendar include Nikita Bierzynski-Steele who captured High Cliff Point, Antoine Bay, St. Patricks, Grenada; Bill Mortley’s Gros Piton overlooks Choisuel in St Lucia; a drive through Calle San Francisco, Old San Juan Puerto Rico by Juan Boria; St Vincent’s Richmond Valley by Kenny Inniss; Point Blanche, Chin Cherry road, St Maarten, photo by Edgardo Lynch; and the only night-time scenic drive in Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge, also know as Suriname Bridge by Paulus Jai Soegriemsingh of Suriname.
The scenic drive competition was open to both amateur and professional photographers and the 2013 calendar will be distributed regionally in all the countries where Sol operates.
