Schools benefit from Super J IGA’s Promotion

Easter is a time for caring and sharing and Super J IGA and Ti J’s endeavored to do just that with an Easter Promotion entitled, ‘It’s Time For Hope to Shine’.

Customers were given a chance to win 350,000 Super J loyalty points and the opportunity to extend a helping hand to the charity or school of their choice by way of an EC $2000 donation. The promotion began on February 25 and ran until April 2 with Cul de Sac resident Shama Joseph emerging victor.

Somewhat stricken with disbelief, she needed an hour or two to come to terms with the reality of her good fortune. A renewed, more composed Shama resurfaced some time later. Delighted by her winnings she wasted no time in highlight the school of her choice: “Naturally I choose George Charles Secondary. I am glad to be placed within the capacity to assist them… they deserve it.”

Shama explained: “Being a product of George Charles Secondary, I am aware of the effort teachers put into their roles and I understand the challenges students face. EC $2000 will go a long way and will ease the burden on the teachers, students and by extension their families and the wider community.”

Shama was given the distinct pleasure of handing over the cheque for $2000 to the school’s principal Wulstan Alfred at their assembly last Friday. There, she took the time to thank Super J for “keeping the big picture in mind” and for creating a means of rewarding customers in a truly significant way.

Alfred expressed gratitude to his past student for giving back to her alma mater: “A timely blessing this is, this donation will make the prospect of an awards ceremony a reality. We the staff and students are indeed grateful for the gesture.”

Shama wasn’t the only winner of the Easter Promotion. A simultaneous promotion was held on Facebook where persons were given the chance to win a personal prize of 20,000 Super J loyalty points and prize of $500 in groceries to be donated to a deserving school or charity of their choice. The winning post came from Ada Ferdinand with her school of choice being Sir Ira Simmons Secondary.

The promotion delivered its promise of spreading the spirit of Easter to lucky winners, who extended their good fortune. The promotion is one of five major seasonal promotions offered by Super J IGA and Ti J’s annually.
