Shamrock A emerged champions of Division Two, having defeated Dynamic Fresh Ones (DFO) in the finals Thursday evening at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.
Shamrock never trailed in the game leading 12-7 after the first quarter and 23-13 at the half. They increased their lead to 34-19 at the end of the third quarter becoming away with a 42-23 victory.
Goal shoot Jeanique Etienne netted 31 goals from 47 attempts fror Shamrock while goal attack made 11 goals from 14 attempts.
For DFO, Shernelle Gaspard made 13 goals from 22 attempts with Neesha Jn Baptiste scoring five goals from 10 attempts.
The Division One Championship had to be rescheduled due to the inclemency of the weather. Consequently, the close of the 2013 Independence Netball Classic is now scheduled for Monday with defending champions Elite Strikers going up against Soufriere. Game time is 6 pm at the Vigie Multi-Purpose Sports Complex.
