About 2:15 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department were apprised of a Burglary at Prio’s Bar in Cul De Sac, Castries and immediately proceeded to the scene.
On arrival, they received information that two armed, masked men entered the establishment and demanded that everyone lay down on the floor. They were also informed that a licensed firearm holder was present and discharged rounds in the direction of the burglars hitting them in the process.
The officers later identified the burglars as 17 year old Melvin Gustave of Entrepot and 19 year old Ossazi Charles of Marchand, Castries. Both individuals were transported to Victoria Hospital where they were treated and admitted.
A weapon suspected to have been used in the incident was recovered. The licensed firearm holder is currently assisting police with investigations.
