The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) has announced the appointment of Mr. Keigan Cox as the organization’s General Manager/Chief Executive Officer effective June 16, 2014. Mr. Cox is an accomplished executive, with experience in management, finance, business development, corporate governance and project management. He brings both regional and international business experience that will serve SLASPA well, as the organization continues on its developmental path.
Keigan Cox most recently served as Head of Business Development, Digicel OECS and currently serves as a Director on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Caribbean Financial Holding Company Limited as well as the National Insurance Corporation (NIC). He is the holder of a Bachelor of Economics Degree, Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA), is an accredited Director and Member of the ICSA and is currently completing a Masters in Law (LLM).
Under Cox’s leadership SLASPA will continue its focus on developing the island’s ports of entry, increasing both maritime and aviation throughput while ensuring safety and security, expanding the ports’ business and building community partnerships. A key area of concentration going forward will be future proofing, which will involve concentrating on ensuring that the organization continues to use the latest technology to gain operational efficiencies and continue best management practices to meet international standards.
“I am excited to be a part of the SLASPA team and look forward to working with the Port Council, Management team, staff and the wider Airport and Seaport stakeholders. There are tremendous opportunities which as a team, I believe that we can take full advantage of and realize great benefit to not only SLASPA but to the government and people of Saint Lucia,” said Cox.
