Soca artist injured in accident

An accident on the Barre de’isle has resulted in a popular soca artiste being hospitalized. The incident occurred at about 3am Saturday morning when a vehicle in which soca artiste Mongstar was traveling, ran off the road and struck a utility pole. There were three other occupants in the vehicle. The singer was taken to Victoria Hospital for examination and was admitted for observation after he complained of having difficulty breathing and chest pains.
Mongstar was on his way to Castries after performing at an event in Vieux Fort featuring Burning Flames of Antigua and other acts. He is also a finalist in next weekend’s Soca monarch competition.
