Saint Lucia’s delegation officially opened the Saint Lucia Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 on October 1, under the theme, ‘Creating New Opportunities to Inspire the World. Let her inspire you!’
Present during the opening week of the EXPO were Tourism Minister Dr. Ernest Hilaire, the Permanent Resident to IRENA – Ambassador Malek El-Sayed, the CEO and Chairperson of Export Saint Lucia, the CEO and Chairman of Invest Saint Lucia and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism.
Export Saint Lucia’s CEO, Sunita Daniel says ‘the reviews of Saint Lucia’s Pavilion from the attendees have been heartwarming. Aside from the beauty of the Pavilion, the hospitality of our country has been on display, our visitors appreciate it and many have promised to return.’
She added that ‘the agencies have secured packed agendas and convened meetings with potential investors and partners. The opportunities and potential promised coming to Dubai, we are confident, will bear fruit.’
Visitors to Saint Lucia’s pavilion are experiencing the heights of Saint Lucian creativity from our designers, sculptors, artists and writers. The Saint Lucia Pavilion patrons from across the world will be introduced to the island’s heritage and culture; our majestic Pitons, our Carnival and even our favourite childhood games.
Information on the CIP programme, investment opportunities and tourism related information including our award-winning honeymoon tourism options are also on display. Some visitors to the Pavilion are already promising to vacation in Saint Lucia to enjoy some more of the beauty and hospitality which are on display.
For those who can’t make it to our island just yet, a retail storefront is currently operational and features local bands like Natmed, Baron Foods, paintings by Naja Simeon and Ron Henry, books by Jako Productions, Dawn Books’ ‘Peanut Series’, JAEYLU, De Kloze Line, Cristy Creations, ceramic work by Caribic Designs as well as craft from Shirley’s Creations & crafters in Choiseul.
Over the next 6 months, staff from participating agencies will engage potential investors and distributors with the overall goal of providing more opportunities for Saint Lucia.
