A St Lucia player breaks away and heads for the open field.

The St Lucia senior male team romped home to a comfortable victory in the Carnival Rugby Tournament held on Saturday at the Corinth Playing Field. In the preliminary round, St Lucia defeated all of the other teams to top the table with the maximum nine points followed by Caribbean Coaching with six points, St Vincent with three points and St Lucia B in the cellar with no points. This set up the finals between St Lucia and Caribbean Coaching, while St Lucia B and St Vincent were destined to meet to decide the third place team.

When the teams met in the third place game, St Vincent overwhelmed St Lucia B by a margin of 38 points to five. Scorers for St Vincent were Delroy Diamond, Phillip Alvis, Godfrey Matthews, Leonard Matthews, Justin Joyles, Guy Hadley and Recardo Dallaway.
