Their lead was further extended when Azard Faucher scored in the 77th minute thus sealing the issue Sunday was the launch of the Super League Tournament in the Northern Division. Kicking off the Super League Gros Islet Senior team maintained their consistency by defeating La Clery 2-0 in a very fast paced and exciting encounter. Though Gros Islet surged into the lead in the 37th minute via the boots of the prolific Troy Greenidge, the game was still evenly poised in the first half.
However, at the resumption Gros Islet piledon the pressure. They were rewarded with a goal in the 67th minute by their other goal scoring machine Eden Charles. La Clery had no response to the continuous onslaught by the players from North and eventually succumbed.
