ST. LUCIA MISSION OF SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS ASSISTS MICOUD FIRE VICTIMS

Less than one week after the devastating fire of June 1st which destroyed four houses and rendered eleven persons homeless, the local Seventh-day Adventist Church has demonstrated Christian compassion by coming forward to assist the affected families. On Thursday, June 4th, 2015 the church, through its Community Services Department, made a donation of clothing and food items to the fire victims. During the visit, prayers were offered for the victims and an initial assessment of material needs for reconstruction was also carried out.

The Adventist delegation was led by Pastor Lucius Philip – Community Services Director and included Intern Pastor in the Micoud District, Pastor
Vern Charlemagne and a representative group of the SDA Community Services members from the Southern Zone. Pastor Philip explained to members of the affected families during the visit that the donation was an initial gesture to bring comfort and support and that the church stands prepared to assist in the clean-up effort through members of the local church and to provide additional assistance towards the recovery process and the resumption of their lives to normality.
