The Government of Saint Lucia is expanding its business and tourism profile in the Middle East, with the establishment of the Office of the Honorary Consul in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Government has appointed Halla Walid Al Juffali as Honorary Consul based in Jeddah. Recently, Ms. Juffali undertook a tour of Saint Lucia and met with Government officials, major national institutions and government agencies to familiarise herself with business and life in Saint Lucia in preparation for her responsibilities as the representative of the Government of Saint Lucia in Saudi Arabia.
The Office of the Honorary Consul will commence operations on November 1, 2015. A major training workshop with travel agents in Saudi Arabia will be organised as the first activity of the Office. Other activities will include investment and business promotion.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the largest economies in the Middle East and is the largest producer and exporter of oil in the world. It is the only Arab country to be part of the G-20 major economies.
The establishment of the Office of Honorary Consul comes at no cost to the Government of
Saint Lucia.
