St Lucians prominent in Windies victory over Aussies

It was a close call but Andre Russell (West Indies) avoided this run out by Brett Lee who hit the stumps during Friday's Fourth One Day International at the Beausejor Cricket Ground.

The West Indies are now in the driver’s seat after defeating Australia in the Fourth One Day International on Friday at the Beausejour Cricket Ground. A century by Kieron Pollard propelled the Windies to a 42 run victory.
The win means the Windies are up 2-1 in the Series. Australia won the first ODI at Arnos Vale Cricket Ground in St Vincent, West Indies won the second and the third ended in a tie.
Before a large crowd at the Beausejour Cricket Ground, West Indies batted first and piled on the runs registering a total of 294 for seven—the highest score so far in this series. Pollard who was named Man of the Match was explosive, especially in the latter stages when he teamed up with Captain Darren Sammy.
An attacking Pollard made 102 not out from 70 deliveries, while Sammy St Lucia’s pride and joy, had the crowd on their feet cheering him on with very swing of the bat. He finished with 31 of 13 balls with two sixes and three fours.
Another St Lucian opener Johnson Charles, contributed significantly to the Windies victory racking up 37 runs.
Windies can win the series with a win Sunday in the fifth and final One Day International at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.
Fittingly, the final dismissal came courtesy of St Lucian Gairy Mathurin who came in as a substitute. He made the final catch off Brett Lee to end the match.

Update: The West Indies lost Sunday’s One Day match against Australia, which means the series is a draw. The 20/20 Matches being on Tuesday in Saint Lucia.
