STAR continues focus on schools

Students of the Canaries Infant School hard at work despite their troubles.

STAR Reporter Toni Nicholas continues to take a look beneath the surface of Saint Lucia’s Education system and various schools around the island.

In Wednesday’s STAR the focus will be the Augier School in Vieux Fort where teachers, parents, students and the principal continue to complain about a six-year- old foul odour and fly infestation at the school as well as buried asbestos on the school compound. And in next weekend’s STAR: “Should the Common Entrance Exam Be Abolished?”

Nicholas will also look at the state of some of our schools in the south following Hurricane Tomas, including Canaries.
