Sydney Charles placed third in the Rockleigh Criterium Series event held June 28, an improvement after placing 10th in the June 7 event held in New York which was over 30 miles.
Charles also participated in the CRCA Central Park Classic Presented by Accelerade /Second Surge on June 30 in Central Park New York. He placed 23rd in the 57 mile event in a time of 1 hour, 59 minutes and 56 seconds. Charles finished eight seconds behind the winner Brian Beach of Brooklyn.
In other news, Fidel Mangal, Kurt Maraj and Gillan Jordan (a junior), recently competed in the 2012 Caribbean Cycling Championship Road Test Event in Antigua. Mangal placed fifth and Maraj sixth while Jordan finished third among the juniors.
The event was held on the same course being proposed for the Caribbean Cycling Championships in October 2012.
