Tarrus, Tanya and More

There has been much buzz around for the first ever OMG Fest with Tarrus Riley and Tanya Stephens. And it will all unfold on stage tonight at Samaans Park where an explosive dose of TnT (Tarrus and Tanya) is expected to excite reggae music fans. The event is being staged by OnTime Music Group (OMG) and this week two members, Kurt and Quincy, told the STAR that they were elated at bringing this event to Saint Lucia. “We are primarily an international artiste development company and we have worked with the likes of Drake, Britney Spears and Rihanna just to name a few,” Kurt told us. “But recently we decided to get more into “live” entertainment and since we had some close friends here in Saint Lucia we decided to bring one of the events here,” he went on. “And so far the response from the sponsors, the fans, the media has been great for this event,” Quincy added.

The STAR also spoke Friday with Tarrus Riley who says that he is excited to be back in Saint Lucia where he has performed before. “But this time it is going to be even more vibes, more niceness and more great reggae music,” he said with a smile.OF course the singer will perform a number of his past hits as well as songs from the critically acclaimed album “Love Situation” released earlier this year. “This album is strictly rock steady although I know many people refer to it as a lovers’ rock album and it covers a variety of love situations as the title suggests. So I am going to do some of that as well as all the hits the people dem love,” Riley told the STAR.

The singer also revealed that he has grown as a person and that has been impressed upon his music. “I have been travelling a lot, being exposed to different people, countries and situations and so you will hear that in my performance,” he went on to explain. “My music is live and full of energy and to have Dean Fraser on board, a man who has watched me grow up through the years, it is great to have him as part of my band and team,” he added.Among fan favourites from Tarrus Riley are “One Drop” and “Love Situation” from the recent album as well as past hits like “Stay With You”, “She’s Royal”, “Lion Paw”, “Start Anew”, “Contagious”, “Superman” and “Good Girl Gone Bad.”

With such hits like “Big Tings a Gwaan”, “Little White Lies”, “These Streets”, “Handle The Ride”, “What a Day” and “It’s a Pity,” to her credit, Tanya Stephens has been known to step up to the plate and deliver on stage.

OMG Fest will also feature Douks out of Martinique and Saint Lucian talent Meshach, Evalucian band with Arthur, Iram Christ and DJs Hollywood HP, Hyper D and Levi Chin. Showtime is 8 pm.
