Tea Time Jazz

Music, Art, Heart

The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA), presenting sponsor of Tea Time Jazz, held a launch for the annual Jazz event at the exclusive St James’s Club Morgan Bay Resort today. La Place Carenage Mall, owned and operated by SLASPA, hosts activities throughout the year, but the most popular being Tea Time Jazz — a series of free Jazz concerts with local performances in an intimate, festive environment.

Tea Time Jazz was first introduced to St Lucia in 1997, when the management of the Duty Free Shopping Complex decided to get in on the jazz action and introduce their own unique brand of the music. Now an integral part of the St Lucia Arts & Jazz Festival, the annual jazz festival is suitably enhanced with this concert which as its name suggests, begins later in the afternoon.  Patrons are treated to free tea, coffee and snacks while enjoying the sweet sounds of jazz.

This year’s line-up includes The Gospel Connection featuring Angelle, Godman, A.J and Malana backed by the band Higher Definition and En’Voice on Wednesday May 8th and Trish and The Derek Yard Project on Thursday May 9.
