The Owners of The Landings Honour Oliver Gobat

On Tuesday, 5th June, 2016, the owners of one of St Lucia’s leading luxury resorts The Landings St Lucia, unveiled a plaque in honour of Oliver (Ollie) Gobat bearing his likeness. Ollie who was tragically murdered on the island almost 2 years ago on 25th April 2014, is still an unsolved mystery. However, this tragic incident has failed to overshadow the many contributions that the Oliver Gobat has made to this island, its tourism industry and the success of The Landings.

Oliver Gobat was an integral part of the luxury hotel and residence as Sales Director up until his untimely departure from this earth. The plaque can now be seen in the lobby of the hotel and was commissioned by the homeowners committee in recognition of his contributions to the creation of The Landings and helping the resort through its most challenging transitions. There were about 30 owners at the ceremony on Tuesday. The committee will always remember Ollie and his ever-optimistic toast to “Happy Days”.

While his family is still dealing with the loss of their son but hopeful that good conscious and a desire to do what is right, will bring forth information that will result in Justice for Ollie. They too continue to ensure that his life and passion for sports are kept alive through the TOGS (The Oliver Gobat Fund) which last weekend donated $48,000 to local sport associations in St Lucia.
