Top swimmers at Capri Sun Swim Trials

Swimmers from local clubs will once again compete at the upcoming Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre Annual Capri Sun National Swimming Time Trials.

Over 140 of St Lucia’s top swimmers are expected to participate in the 13th Annual Capri Sun National Swimming Time Trials taking place October 6-7 at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre. The opening ceremony is October 6 at 9:15 am and the awards presentation takes place October 7 at 2pm. Sea Jays Swim Club is the host organizer. Capri Sun, through their agents in St Lucia Consolidated Foods has sponsored the National Swimming trials, this year being the thirteenth anniversary of the meet. At a recent presentation ceremony, Super J IGA Marketing Officer, Taluah Girard, presented to Sea Jays Legends Swim Club President, Lily Bergasse and swimmers the Capri-Sun cheque. St Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) is the silver sponsor. The meet has been dedicated to the late Sea Jays’ Coach, Karen Beaubrun. A special award will be presented bearing her name. Many of the top local swimmers are expected to attend, including national representatives. The trials will be used to assess their performance as swimmers attempt to qualify for the national team, which will battle Grenada and Antigua at the 2012 OECS Championships set for Antigua in November. Swimmers will represent the following local clubs: Sharks Swim Club, Sea Jays Swim Club, Racers Swim Club, Sea Hawks Swim Club, Cobras Swim Club and Southern Flying Fish. Caption for pic 0010
