Tough loss for Under-23 Football Team

Zane Pierre pictured here during a recent game against Aruba scored St Lucia’s lone goal against St Kitts.

St Lucia’s National Under-23 Football Team lost their first game in the opening round of matches, in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Group D Olympic Qualifying series in St Kitts.
Thursday evening St Lucia went down to defeat 2-1 to the host country. From all indications they should have won, had they capitalized on their numerous scoring opportunities.
St Kitts led 1-0 at the half then scored another in the second half. St Lucia’s Zane Pierre made it 2-1 converting on a free kick.
St Lucia’s next game is today (Saturday) against Haiti. Their final game is against Antigua and Barbuda Monday evening.
