Tributes continue to pour in from Saint Lucians all over the globe, following the announcement of the passing of veteran radio broadcaster Andre Vaughn Noel, affectionately known as simply Vaughn, Uncle V or the “Bumble Bee.” Vaughn passed away in Grenada (where he was born) at the age of 70 after a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
Many Saint Lucian media personalities have all credited him for having played a role in their careers either directly or through his ever-encouraging words of support. As a broadcaster he also touched the lives of many radio listeners either through his outside broadcast or with his many on air radio programs.
Vaughn was also a supporter of Saint Lucian music and the arts affording much local airplay to often unknown Saint Lucian talent. He was also an avid follower of the Calypso Tents here. Vaughn had dedicated more than fifty years of his career to broadcasting in Saint Lucia.
