More qualify for Guinness Street Challenge

Rising Stars and Lick Me All Over emerged as the top two qualifiers of the Desruisseaux preliminary qualifying leg of the 2013 Guinness Street Challenge small goals football competition, which took place Monday evening at the Desruisseaux Multi-Purpose Court.

Seven teams took part in the event in Desruisseaux, with Rising Stars qualifying as the top team beating Lick Me All Over 2-1 in the finals. In the semi-finals Rising Stars got past New Vibes on penalties, while Lick Me All Over had defeated Small Axe 2-0.

Both Rising Stars and Lick Me All over will be at the grand finals of the 2013 Guinness Street Challenge small goals football competition, on the Base in Vieux Fort on Sunday,
June 9. Rising Stars have qualified for the grand
final all three years the competition has been held, having placed second overall in the first year of the competition.

Also qualifying for Vieux Fort’s match was Brad Bideau. He won the ball skills juggling competition, the finals of which will also be held on the Base, June 9.

The overall winners of the Guinness Street Challenge small goals football competition and the ball skills juggling competition, will represent St Lucia at the regional finals in St Vincent and the Grenadines, June 20-23.

Preliminary qualifying action continues this Friday evening in Mabouya Vallley from 7 pm, in Micoud on Saturday, May 25 from 5 pm and Sunday, May 26 from 5 pm in Vannard/Millet.
