Update on Homicide on Jn.Baptiste Street

On Wednesday, December 23, 2015 police formally charged 28 year old, Darren Preville of La Croix, Babonneau for the offence of Murder. Preville was charged in connection with the death of 30 year old Cedrick Gourie of Darling Road, Castries. Gourie was discovered with a single stab wound to his chest on Jn.Baptiste Street, Castries on Saturday, December 19, 2015. A post mortem conducted on the body of Gourie revealed that he died as a result of Cardiac Tamponade (pressure on the heart which occurs when blood or fluid builds up in the space between the heart muscle and the outer covering sac of the heart), secondary to stab wound to the chest.

Preville is scheduled to make an appearance before the First District Court on Monday, December 28, 2015
