Valley Sock it to them at Soccerama

Valley Soccer had reason to celebrate after winning Sunday’s Soccerama at the Sab Sporting Facility.

Following the reopening of the Sab Sporting Facility after extensive rehabilitation work, the Castries Football Council  (CFC) kicked off their
season with a soccerama on Sunday.
During the brief opening ceremony, Chairman of the Castries CFC, Francis Daniel said: “Today represents the opening of our 2012 football season. What we are trying to do is hype up the league among the nine clubs. A lot of work was done to the field. I have to thank the curators under Martinus Avril for working tirelessly to make it happen.”
Commenting on the world’s most popular game Daniels said: “Of late it has taken a battering globally and regionally, but we do not think that has to reflect on the local sport. In Castries we are trying to do our part to assist the St Lucia Football Association in cleaning up the sport, by keeping drugs out of it and through good sportsmanship.”
For the Soccerrama, the participating clubs who are CFC Affiliates were divided into three groups of three leading to a semi-final, third place playoff and final. The clubs
who took tpart were VSADC, NYAH, Youthful Lancers FC, FC Pioneers, Valley Soccer, Agard SC, Police, Fire Service and Faux A Chaud.Valley Soccer won the Soccerama with a victory over 2011 Soccerama champs NYAH in the finals.
