The 2013 Veterans Football Tournament organized by Caricom Masters for the Caribbean Alliance Cup, officially kicks off on Sunday afternoon at the Beausejour Cricket Ground.
Sunday’s official kick off will comprise of the march pass of all the participating teams, a short opening ceremony from 1.00 pm, then four matches will be played after.
The matches scheduled for Sunday are as follows: 2:00 pm, Lancers FC vs Lab Vets of Laborie; 4:00 pm, Vieux Fort South vs Spartans; 6:00 pm, Prophets and Kings vs Soufriere Veterans; 8:00 pm, Mabouya Valley vs Gros Islet Veterans.
The 16 participating teams have been placed into four groups of four, where they will play on a round robin basis with the top two in each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
Chairman of the organizing committee for the tournament, Alvin Malaykhan, said things are moving ahead smoothly for Sunday’s start of the tournament.
