32 goals were scored in seven matches played in the 2013 Veterans Football Tournament which continued last weekend.
On Saturday evening at the Gros Islet Playing Field the home side Gros Islet won over Mabouya Valley 3-1. Scoring for Gros Islet were Keith St Clair in the 13th minute, Stewart Alcide in the 36th minute and Fadi Abboud in the 89th minute.
Kelly James in the 64th minute converted for Mabouya Valley.
Nyah won over Caricom Masters 3-1. Goals for Nyah came from Dave Frederick in the 24th minute, Hubert George in the 47th minute and Sean Monplaisir in the 68th minute.
Behind The College All Stars defeated Anse La Raye 4-2 behind goals from Tennyson Glasgow, Mathius Jules, Eddison Allain and Trevor Cadette-all former Guinness CYO players.
Anse La Raye’s goals came from Roland Clairmont and Benjamin “Satan” Gabriel.
On Sunday in very soggy and muddy conditions at the Micoud Playing Field, Defending champions Vieux Fort South won their second consecutive encounter shutting out Lancers FC 2-0. Goals from Jean Joseph from the penalty spot in the 47th minute and Douglas “Ti Goat” Marcellin in the 57th minute, gave Vieux Fort South the victory.
A hat Trick from Parliamentary Representative for Dennery South, Edmund Estaphane, gave Dennery All Blacks a 3-1 win over Prophets and Kings. Estaphane’s goals came in the 49th, 54th and 79th minutes.
Gerald Charles converted the lone goal for Prophets and Kings in the 60th minute.
Laborie and Spartans played to a one all draw. Rufus St Aimee put Laborie ahead in the 17th minute but Thomas “Awoomba” Bell equalized for Spartans in the 67th minute.
In the match of the day, Congorians hammered home team Micoud 7-3. Kenton Vitalis scored four goals in the first minute, 45th, 47th and 50th minutes. The other goal scorers for the winning side were Nicholas Roberts in the 13th minute, Francis Lambert in the 39th minute and Gregg Valcin in the 77th minute.
Simon Evans scored a hat trick for Micoud with goals in the third, 11th and 64th minutes.
