Victories for Police and Lancers FC

Action from Wednesday’s game in the Castries Super League between FC Pioneers (left) and Police.

The highly anticipated mid week battle in the SSDF sponsored Castries Super League (CSL) between giants FC Pioneers and Police lived up to the billing.
A strike by Shervin Charles in the 15th minute ensured that the lawmen had the lead going into the break.
Upon resumption, FC Pioneers played with a renewed sense of urgency and were rewarded in the 56th minute with a goal coming from the boot of Ian Ernest.
From then on it was a hard fought game as both teams searched for the winner, until a blunder in the 67th minute by FC Pioneers central defenders served up a sitter which lawman Brandon Augustin graciously accepted. At the end of regulation the lawmen had secured a well deserved 2 goals to 1 victory over FC Pioneers.
In a game played on Monday which jump started the competition, Lancers FC bounced back after being defeated by their rival Nyah in the soccerama the previous
day. This time around going up against
new kids on the block Agard United, Lancers FC got back on the winning track with a 3-0 win.
At half time goals from prolific strikers Lynch “Zegeh” Isidore and Nigel “Gums” Springer ensured that the boys wearing baby blue were ahead. A second half strike from Anthony Paul, ensured Lancers FC a well deserved victory.
Action in the SSDF sponsored CSL continues at 2pm on Saturday at the Sab Sporting Facility when soccerama semi-finalist Bisee Lion takes on new kids on the block Valley Soccer Club.
