Victory for Leon Hess

The 2013 United Insurance Under-19 School Cricket Tournament has reached the semi-final stage with Leon Hess edging out Castries Comprehensive, in a keenly contested quarter final game played on Friday at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

Batting first, Castries Comprehensive Secondary was dismissed for 135 in 26.4 overs with Nick Elibox making 35 and Selhai Faucher 13.

Bowling for Leon Hess, Shadly James dismissed four for 32 and Joel Jn Charles two for two.

In pursuit of victory, Leon Hess held their nerves and won with just two wickets in hand, finishing on 136 for eight in 28.2 overs.

Joel Jn Charles led the scoring with 41 supported by Kendel Phulphere (23) and Shane Peterson (18).

Bowling for Castries Comprehensive, Stuart Calderon dismissed three for 31 and Kyle Constantine two for 14.

As a result, Leon Hess won by two wickets. The semi-finals took place on Tuesday between Vieux Fort Comprehensive and Leon Hess Comprehensive at the Piaye Playing Field and Corinth Seconday and Choiseul Secondary playing at the Gros Islet Playing Field.
