Why tax utilities? You are only making the misery and crisis worse. St. Lucia is trying to emulate the socialist state of Canada which taxes everything to death. If you lower the operationg cost for business you will start seeing growth. From my take on Jn Marie’s statements on DBS is that prices should stay up because of a deficit due to losses.

This should have been down since December or the PM should have given the St. Lucian people their Christmas gift by lowering the price of gas around Christmas, what better way. Let’s keep up the pressure and if we are not satisfied with the reduction he comes up with the pressure will be intensified. The poor are the ones being squeezed hence the reason for all the suicides on the island.

When the righteous are in power the people rejoice but the wicked are in power the people mourn.

When the government is afraid of the people you have a democracy. However, when the people are afraid of the government you have a dictatorship.
