Water Shut Down in the North

The Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) has planned a shutdown of the John Compton Dam for Tuesday March 22, 2016. The shutdown is expected to begin at 5 a.m. and will affect water supply to the north of the island. The company will be undertaking maintenance work on the raw water line from the John Compton Dam to Theobalds Treatment Plant at Ciceron for the entire day. According to WASCO, the maintenance work has become necessary due to new leaks on the raw water line.

When the supply is restored, it will take up to 48 hours for the supply and pressure to normalize.
In some cases, customers at the extreme ends of the network and at high elevations may still experience difficulties, which will be addressed as pressure normalises.
