St Lucia will be participating in the Windward Islands Schools Games taking place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from July 26 to August 4.
The Games will be contested under the following Disciplines: athletics, basketball (male and female), football, netball, volleyball (male and female).
A team of 70 comprising of 62 participants and eight officials makes up the St Lucian contingent. The team has been preparing for the past four months and they are expected to give a very good account of themselves
in St Vincent and the Grenadines, as they seek to improve on their performances last year.
This year’s Team St Lucia is a well balanced and versatile one. The basketball, volleyball (male and female) and netball teams have been engaged in this year’s club tournaments which augur well for their overall preparation.
Last year St Lucia was victorious in the netball tournament. This year’s team is made of five players who recently participated in the OECS Under-23 Netball Tournament.
