An outpouring of grief flooded social media sites on Monday evening as the news broke. Many paid tribute to the young woman popularly known as “Xotic P,” citing “her warm, jovial, and nurturing nature” as among the myriad reasons she will be missed.

One clearly devastated friend posted: “Words can’t express the way I feel for you, for your friends, for your family and loved ones. You were such a sweet, loving person.”
Another: “I just saw this terribly sad news this morning and I didn’t want to believe it. I was hoping someone was playing some cruel joke. You were beautiful, loving and kind. You are and will always be loved.”

The shooting was just one of a spate of incidents over the Easter weekend. On Sunday 23-year-old Garfield Jean of Cul-de-Sac died after falling off a boat into the sea at Malgretoute Beach, Soufriere. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the town’s hospital.

Craig John of Waterworks Road, Castries sustained injuries when his vehicle slammed into a brick wall near Gate Park. According to the police he was treated at Victoria Hospital, then discharged.
