Would Be Robber Shot Dead in Corinth

Royal St. Lucia Police Force – On Thursday August 3, 2023 about 6:20 p.m. Officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station received a report of a robbery at Corinth, Gros Islet.

On arrival on the scene Officers observed one (1) male with apparent gunshot wounds about his body.

The male was later identified as thirty -three (33) year old Ted Smith of Mon Repos, Micoud was transported to the Owen King European Union Hospital (OKEUH) via ambulance and was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

Ted Smith was reportedly committing an armed robbery and in the process was fatally shot by a licenced firearm holder.

A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

Investigations are ongoing into this matter.
