Youth Aflame presents: Something About Christmas

They have been around now for more than twenty years, but that still has not stopped the group Youth Aflame from pursuing their motto; “destined for greatness putting smiles on faces is our greatest joy”. And this Christmas, Youth Aflame is about the business of “greatness” “smiles” and “joy” once again.

On Sunday December 20 Youth Aflame ( a youth group of the Streams of Power Ministry) will stage their annual Christmas production “Something about Christmas” at the National Cultural Center from 7:30 pm. Through song, dance and drama the group will raise the questions; will this Christmas be a joyous one for families, for you? So many
have lost hope, lost their joy, peace and love. Can the joy and peace that comes with the holiday season mend
this family, can they laugh again? Can they love again? Where are you Christmas? Where can I find you? Where is the laughter you used to bring me?

The entertaining yet thought provoking piece, will seek to inspire, enlighten and inform. But more than that, quite apart from impacting the audience, Sunday’s production is meant to impact lives beyond the day.

Youth Aflame’s Christmas production is used to generate funds to assist the destitute and children over the holidays and this year is no different. Over the years members of the group have distributed groceries, toys and children clothing to various communities around Saint Lucia. While doing so they also seek to impart the Word and minister to persons who they come into contact with.

This year, right after Youth Aflame Christmas production the group will be visiting three communities; Anse La Ray, Choiseul and Laborie as they share with four hundred poor and needy persons groceries, toys and clothing. This will be done from December 21-23, 2015.

However, Christmas time is not the only time Youth Aflame reaches out to the destitute on a monthly basis the group assist with groceries and clothing in a community they have adopted. They also bring comfort to the hospitalized at the pediatric ward of Victoria hospital and joy to the elderly.

“Our joy is to do what we are commissioned to do which is to make a difference, turn a life around, make a difference in our society and communities thus putting smiles on faces which is our greatest joy,” a statement from the group says.
