2010 homicides figures up…again!

Police have launched an investigation into the death of 31-year-old Wayne Demar aka “Song Boy” originally of Derniere Riviere, Dennery who resided at Aux-Picon, Vieux-Fort. Demar was shot about 10:30am on Wednesday, December 29 at Conway, Castries.

He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical doctor. A post mortem is scheduled to be performed shortly. Police are yet to establish a motive with reference to this matter and no arrest has been made.

Investigation have been launched by the Soufriere police into the death of 27-year-old, Waynell O’Neil of Fond-Benier, Soufriere who was stabbed about 11:10am on Christmas day.

Reports indicate that O’Neil was at Baron’s Drive, Soufriere where he got involved in an altercation with two men when he was allegedly stabbed in the chest and struck in the head with an object. He was thereafter taken to the Soufriere Hospital where he was pronounced dead

Police have charged 23-year-old, Shodeus Clement aka “Shoddy” of Boulevard Street, Soufriere and Severus Butcher aka “Airlay” of Sulphur Springs, Soufriere, for the murder of Waynell O’Neil.

The two men are remanded at the Bordelais Correctional Facility until January 26, 2011 when they will reappear in court.
