Last night the Beausejour Indoor Facility was more alive and exciting than any other night thus far in the KFC Commercial Basketball League. The support for the teams were coming out from all corners of the walls as the whistles, clappers, screams flooded the place.
In the first semis game Goddard Group was victorious against Scotiabank with a final score of 70 – 57 as Goddard Group made it to their 1st Commercial Basketball League Finals. Once again Scotiabank despite their efforts fell short and will look to get that 3rd place Trophy.
The KFC Player of the game Ali Quinlan led the scoring with 26 points and 6 rebounds, Andre Louison chipped in with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 steals and Dilan Biscette had 10 points and 22 rebounds. For Scotia, Shamoir Jn. Baptiste led their scoring with 32 points and 7 rebounds. Ron Edward also added 13 points and 8 rebounds in their loss.
In semi-final two, Fire Service dealt a first loss of the competition to the Media All Stars 62 – 41. They proved to be too much on the night for a Media team that was booming with confidence after getting past defending champions Police in the quarterfinals.
The KFC Player of the game Jerry Charles led the scoring for Fire Service (Los Fuegos) with 17 points and 4 rebounds and Marcian Calderon contributed 14 points and 16 rebounds. Elijah Williams had 11 points and 13 rebounds for Media and Ryan Headley added 10 points and 6 rebounds in their loss.
The KFC Commercial League Finals are set for Saturday October 4th, with the third place game between Media Ballerz and Scotiabank to tip off at 6pm followed by the championship game Los Fuegos vs Goddard Group.
