In a statement today, September 1, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet said that the government has worked hard together with diplomatic allies and other international partners to make more scholarships available for young Saint Lucians. As of last year, he said, Taiwan increased the number of scholarships available to Saint Lucians by 50%.

“This year our amazing friends from Taiwan have increased the number of scholarship awardees even further. Special thanks to Ambassador Chen and his hardworking team at the Taiwanese Embassy here in Saint Lucia for their support in making this a reality. Sending best wishes to the 27 young Saint Lucians who will be heading off to pursue higher education in Taiwan this year. We will be cheering and praying for your success,” said Chastanet.
