Alliance Francaise Presents Street Art, Urban Culture and Identity

[dropcap]F[/dropcap]ebruary sees the continuation of Alliance Francaise’s Annual Cutural Program for 2017, under this month’s theme ‘Street Art, Urban Cultures and Identity’.

Thursday, February 9, at 7:30 pm will be the official opening of the photo exhibition ‘Murals of Saint Lucia’ with photography by Pascal Maillet-Contoz. ‘Murals of Saint Lucia’ conceptualized in honour of the Saint Lucian Graffiti Artistes and Painters.

The photography exhibition will be at the Alliance Francaise from February 11th – February 28th from Monday to Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

The month of February will continue with very interesting events and activities under the theme ‘Street Art, Urban Cultures and Identity’ with the following:

Saturday, February 18 – 11:00 amHip Hop & Samba – This will be an exciting event with 2 great dancers from Martinique – Chanta Thine (Samba) and David Milone (Hip Hop). This will be followed by a Hip Hop Workshop in the afternoon for Saint Lucian Hip Hop Dancers.

Monday 6 – Saturday 18 February – Saint Lucia Symbols and Identity – The activity will see all students of Alliance Francaise working with their teachers to express what the Saint Lucia Symbols and Identity means to them. This is also to celebrate the 38th Anniversary of Saint Lucia’s Independence with the theme ‘I am Saint Lucia’.

Alliance Francaise encourages the public to attend the events starting with the official opening of the photo exhibition, ‘Murals of Saint Lucia’ on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 7:30pm at the Pyramid, Point Seraphine, Castries.
