Are you a Friend in the Fight against Breast Cancer?

The theme for the Yoplait Yogurts Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2014 is “Friends in the Fight”. The campaign was launched on Friday October 2nd, at a Health fair in Micoud, where Sancha Raggie, Marketing Manager of Consolidated Foods Ltd explained what this means to CFL and Yoplait as organizers of the campaign.

“One of the underling words here is friends. And the question what draws people together as friends helps us to put this in perspective. Friends share Common interests, they share Common values. Friends are generous with their time, their talents, skills, resources, their money, and they won’t hesitate to help you when needed. For us then at Consolidated Foods Ltd and Yoplait Friends in the fight means many things. It means Support, Togetherness, it means Generosity, it means Sharing and also extends to using our Influence and Resources to work towards the common goal of breast cancer awareness and reduction. ”

The Yoplait Yogurts Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign has various elements as follows:

1. There is the product side where 10 cents on the sale of every 6oz Yoplait Yogurts, goes into a fund to support persons requiring breast cancer treatment.

2. The other component is the Walk for Cancer which is scheduled for Sunday November 2nd. This walk has been growing tremendously with the level of support from the public increasing year on year. All monies from registration of the walk also goes into the fund.

3. The campaign includes activities across CFL stores (Super J IGA, gl foodmarket) to educate customers about cancer and also staff education about the disease.

The total monies collected through the two initiatives are provided to organizations that support persons who have breast cancer and require medical treatment. Last year $50,000 was raised and this year CFL is hoping to surpass this mark. The National Community Foundation and Faces of Cancer will be the beneficiaries of all funds raised for 2014.
