[dropcap]L[/dropcap]eave it to a seven year old to steal the show at Sunday’s Monster Energy Moto Cross at the Cul de Sac race track. That’s exactly what happened when Rajani who incidentally was the only female competitor, competed on bike number 78 in the ‘C’ class against male riders. Rajani is a newcomer to the sport. In fact it was just three months ago she started riding and since then has never looked back. Seeing her father Rajim ride (not motocross) and also watching her little cousin on one, may have had something to do with Rajani asking and receiving a two wheeler for her birthday. Competing in her first race on Sunday, Crystal Beroo expressed concern for the young rider’s safety and admitted being close to tears. However she is fully behind this young and courageous dare devil and told me “she loves it so I have to support her.” The St Lucia Moto X Club’s mandate for 2018 is developing young riders. That being the case Rajani is in good hands.
