Augier medalled at CISC Championships

St Lucian swimmer Jordan Augier confirmed his stamp as one of the most promising regional swimmers, by bringing home St Lucia’s first medal on the inaugural day of the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships (CISC) in Oranjestad, Aruba.
Jordan placed third in 100 metre (m) free boys 15-17 age group and established a new national record in a time of 54.19 seconds. Coming in just 1/100th of a second behind Augier, was Runako Daniel who finished fourth with a time of 54.20 which also beat the old national record. He also placed seventh in the 50 m fly in a time of 26.2.
In the 18 and over category, Brad Worrell placed seventh in 100 m free in time of 54.83 and female swimmer Siona Huxley placed seventh in 100m free in time of 1:03.26.
In Sunday morning’s prelims of the championships, Anthony Francois placed 12th in the 50 m free in a personal best time of 26.33 and Jyasi Daniel placed 13th in 200 m breast in new age group record time of 3:10.18.
