The STAR is reliably informed that there has been another addition to the Saint Lucia Labour Party’s slate of candidates for the upcoming general elections. The executive of the party has endorsed Mrs. Virginia Albert-Poyotte as the candidate for the Babonneau constituency.
A veteran educator and former principal, Mrs. Albert-Poyotte previously served as the president of the Saint Lucia Teachers’ Union. Per data from the Saint Lucia Electoral Department, current Babonneau MP Ezechiel Joseph received 3,790 votes in the 2016 general elections, capturing the seat from Alvina Reynolds who had 2,483.

Senator Joachim Henry – Castries South East
Emma Hippolyte – Soufriere
Wayne Girard – Anse La Raye/Canaries
Alfred Prospere – Dennery South
Guibion Ferdinand – Micoud South
In June political leader of the SLP Philip J. Pierre, told reporters that the party’s full slate of candidates should be finalized by the end of this month.
