Opposition MP Guy Joseph has applied to the courts to prevent the governor general from making any order in terms of “any draft submitted to her under Section 57 (6) of the Constitution for a period of 14 days.”
According to court documents, the claimant “shall issue and serve his claim form supporting statement of claim on a date to be determined by the court.” Hearing is scheduled for 27 February, 2015 at 9 a.m. “on notice to respondents”—the Boundaries Commission, the prime minister and the attorney general. The application was filed on Tuesday this week.
