As carnival fever hots up and revelers get ready to hit the road, Mas lovers have been given more reason to expect a great Saint Lucia Carnival in 2013. LIME, Saint Lucia and the Caribbean’s leading telecommunications service provider, has stepped in with support and once again, the company has announced a massive sponsorship package for this year’s cultural extravaganza, one of its biggest yet.
This year, LIME has provided financial, telecommunications and promotional support to three calypso tents – Ambassadors, Soca Village and South – as well as reigning Band Of The Year, Rituals, Toxik, Just 4 Fun and Mas Action. The company is also partnering with the Meltdown Carnival Band of Vieux Fort (also participating in Dennery Carnival), Outkast Carnival Band (Vieux Fort) and Outrageous: Sexy in Black . In addition, LIME is supporting Saint Lucian soca star Teddyson John in the production and marketing of his first CD Love Passion Music. This support is part of the company’s endorsement deal with Teddyson and contemporary singing sensation, Stacy Iman Charles.
Over the past five years LIME has contributed well over $1,000,000 in cash and kind, including telecommunications and advertising support to various carnival stakeholders. The Saint Lucia National Steel Bands Association, and a number of community
carnivals have also benefited from LIME’s support over the years.
Meantime, LIME is giving its customers opportunities to win carnival costumes, tickets to LIME-sponsored shows and lots of other giveaways. To qualify for a chance to win all they have to do is visit the company’s Facebook page or text MAS to 2929.
“We always try to make Carnival a joyful occasion for our customers and the people of Saint Lucia. That’s why we generally support a range of bands and tents islandwide,” said LIME General Manager, Chris Williams. “We’ve made communication easier and more affordable with One Rate for calling and Anywhere SMS for texting. Now customers can jump, talk and text away with the peace of mind that their mobile credit will last much longer and they will pay the lowest rates in the market.
“For carnival fans looking forward to sharing photos and videos, LIME has made it easier to realise the full potential of their handsets with our launch of 4G. Our 4G network lets customers enjoy faster data speeds, upload, download and watch videos at blazing speeds, simultaneously browse the web while making a call, send email, download photos and music at lightning speeds, and much more. In addition to all that, customers get chances to win fantastic prizes” Chris added.
“Our message to carnival fans is play Mas with LIME and have a wonderful time. It’s LIME for Carnival – all the way!” he concluded.
