[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ith no time to waste and just off of the heels of Saint Lucia Jazz, the producer of the Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival is set to make a grand carnival entrance with the staging of a major event on the Saint Lucia Carnival calendar – Epic Wednesday, on May 30, 2018 at The Sab at Vigie from 7 pm.

Epic Wednesday, which is a free public event, is designed to set the stage for Saint Lucia Carnival, whetting the appetite of carnival lovers nationally and across the world in preparation for this most anticipated season on Saint Lucia’s events calendar.

Thomas Leonce, CEO of Events St. Lucia, noted that, “Saint Lucia Carnival is an intrinsic part of our culture and a staple to our events lineup. It is also a viable product, one that engages numerous sectors from entertainment to hospitality and everything in between, with far reaching benefits from a creative and economic standpoint. We, therefore, spare no effort in ensuring that the quality of this festival is of the highest standard, not just locally, but internationally where we are pitching to a global audience,” he concludes.

Epic Wednesday, which is into its 2nd year, is a “sneak peek” into Saint Lucia Carnival and will capture all aspects of the festival, giving its stakeholders and critical players the opportunity to participate.

Set to take the Epic Wednesday stage on May 30 from 7 pm at The Sab in Vigie are some of Saint Lucia’s celebrated Power Soca, Groovy Soca and Calypso artistes including Sedale, Ezra, Arthur Allain, Ricky T, Kisha, Black Boy, Surbance & Mighty, Big Sea, Pep, Herb Black and Ashanti. Epic Wednesday will also feature community and national carnival bands, Carnival Queen Pageant contestants from around the island and last year’s Panorama champs, Babonneau Steel Orchestra.

“The early marketing of Saint Lucia Carnival is critical to its success,” states Leila Williams, Marketing and Sponsorship Officer for Events Saint Lucia who noted that Epic Wednesday was staged in June of last year. “Most importantly, we understand the value each player brings to the table and how vital it is to get the support of Saint Lucians, both at a private and a public level, and to use every bit of real-estate that we have to showcase all of our contributors to Saint Lucia Carnival.”

She adds, “Our sponsors are thrilled for the early inclusion. Without their inputs, Saint Lucia Carnival, which is part of the Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival, will not recognize the success which it has and so we are delighted to showcase our partners and sponsors for Saint Lucia Carnival on Wednesday May 30 at Epic Wednesday. We extend an invitation to all, to this free public event which will embody all that is intrinsically Saint Lucia Carnival,” she closes.

Sponsors for Saint Lucia Carnival include FLOW 4G LTE, Platinum Sponsor for the Soleil Saint Lucia Summer Festival, Caribbean Airlines, Bounty Rum and Piton Beer. Media sponsors include The Wave, HTS/Helen 100, Vybe Radio, Choice TV, DBS, Hot FM, RCI and MBC.

Saint Lucia Carnival is produced in Collaboration with the Cultural Development Foundation (CDF).
