World Environment Day is celebrated every year on June 5th to raise global awareness of the issues affecting the environment and to take positive action to protect our eco-system, to conserve energy, reduce waste and to protect our planet.
To commemorate this year’s observance, Consolidated Foods Limited has taken a proactive approach to encourage its customers to think green and to use less plastic. From Wednesday June 3rd to Saturday June 6th all CFL Reusable Bags (Super J IGA, Mega J and gl foodmarket) will be priced at just $1.00.
The company is also inviting the public to visit Super J IGA Rodney Bay and gl foodmarket on Saturday June 6th to make an environmental pledge.
CFL is partnering with the Ministry of Sustainable Development and the Rotaract Club of Gros Islet on the pledge initiative. Persons pledging will have the opportunity to qualify to win exciting prizes.
This year the company has also thrown its support behind the Saint Lucia National Trust in hosting ‘World Wide Views 2015’, a global discussion on climate change and energy. CFL is one of the main sponsors of the event which provides a platform for Saint Lucians to learn how to mitigate the impacts of climate change and influence policies that will shape their future and that of future generations. This is a free event which
will take place at the Golden Palm Conference Room at Rodney Bay. Interested persons can contact the St. Lucia National Trust for more details.
