A featured contributor to the soon to be released book ‘Sheet Music: The Diary of a Songwriter’, Saint Lucian recording artist and songwriter Chrycee headed to Hollywood this week to be an official part of a Grammy Tribute Event and of the book launch at the Avalon Hollywood on Sunday February 14th, 2016. Written by five-time Grammy Award winning songwriter, producer and music programmer, Devine Evans, ‘Sheet Music: Diary of a Songwriter’ aims to shed light on the sexual injustices female artists can encounter while chasing their dream of a career in the music industry. In an effort to empower these women, the book shares the stories of a variety of female artists’ personal experiences as well as general advice on how to cope with and safeguard themselves against such abuse and injustice.
Saint Lucia’s Chrycee is among these female artists who share their experiences and lends her voice to this cause to empower other ladies in music on how they can navigate through those sexual injustices and protect themselves. A dominant figure in the music industry, Devine Evans, who has worked with music icons like Mary J Blige, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Chris Brown—to name a few!—says his hope is that the book will empower any woman struggling within the music industry and let them know they are not alone. ‘Sheet Music: The Diary of the Songwriter’ is currently available for pre-order via www.thediaryofasongwriter.com
