Employees of CIBC FirstCaribbean on Thursday, May 16 were treated to a show of appreciation from management. The regional-wide Employee Appreciation Day was celebrated among the 17 Caribbean territories where CIBC FirstCaribbean operates with various activities scheduled to demonstrate to employees the extent to which their efforts are valued within the bank.

In Saint Lucia, CIBC FirstCaribbean employees began the day with an inspirational message from the bank’s chief executive officer Rik Parkhill, who highlighted the positive impact of employees on the Bank’s positioning as the leading financial services provider within the region.  The bank’s managers also presented each employee with a card and a token of appreciation. The day of recognition and acknowledgement continued with a staff breakfast. Generous treats from the ‘Well of Appreciation’ snack buffet reinforced the message of thanks.  Employees extended Appreciation Day activities well beyond working hours to include an evening karaoke party and movie night.

Country Manager, Mauricia Thomas-Francis, stressed the importance of the Employee Appreciation Day, noting: “Celebrating our employees this way is imperative to recognising that our employees are the bank’s greatest asset. They are the driving force behind the growth and development of CIBC FirstCaribbean.”

In February, CIBC FirstCaribbean held a similar event in the spirit of love and appreciation, this time to celebrate its customers during its Customer Appreciation Day. The bank takes the opportunity annually to thank customers for their continued support throughout the year.
